Coursework, Coming from Mars,Partying, Kendo and mucho watching

Well I've been a busy bee again this week which is cool. That sounds really strange don't it? But nevermind.

Coursework went exceptionally well...both pieces that were going to be urksome didn't turn out to be so and both ended up over a thousand words over the word limit! Yikes! How the hell did that happen? Seriously, usually when I write an essay I have to add tons to it to get it up to the word count, not take stuff out. Suppose it'll be a little on the easier side and it's starting to sink in that my deadlines are coming up fast. *must send that e-mail off*

Was at War of the Worlds on Thursday night and omg! It's totally fantastic. No I'm not talking about the film version, which Cruise destroyed not Speilburge, I'm talking about the Jeff Wayne Musical version! WHEEEEEEE! There was a Tripod, I mean a TRIPOD like the ones on the cover on stage! Inbetween the strings orchestra and the electronic orchestra! And the guy was there as well! And they had animated the original artwork so it even looked dead proper and there was just a great atomsphere and all sorts. Also quite ironically it was a good thing I wasn't playing hooky from work otherwise I would have been caught by my supervisor Rich who was there with his Dad. That was funny but anyways, fatastic show and I ended up paying £60 for the t-shirts but on the plus side they have Thunderchild on which makes it worth it. Just every time I listen to it now I'm going to see the Tripod slowly desend down *shudders*

Kendo was fun on Friday, not been for the last few weeks but everyone was enquiring where I had been and what I had been up to which was really nice. Caught up with Kallers and heard the funny story about the Sandwich and will more than likely continue to annoye her (along with her mate and her brother) by pointing at things when she is a bit merry and asking what is this? (ask her for the story). But anyway, got to kendo, met up with Dash (cause he was back early) which was fantastic and gave him his b/day present (and Kal's earlier on) which was great fun. Darren gave us a tough night but it was reasonably well paced so I didn't end up hpyerventatlating. The only problem was that the muscles on the top of my left foot started tightening in such a way that I thought it was going to start spasaming. Which is not a good thing when it comes to kendo. I put it down to two things being that I was correcting my footwork and also that I did not have my knee guards on. Of course I didn't realise this till afterwards but nevermind.

Saturday I was at a Whiteies do, for Laura's 21st, and had a good time which is always a bonus. I managed quite well with my drinks till Dad decided to get me a double vodka and Red Bull. I drank it all and had a good dance about with people and then chucked it up cause I'm stil a light weight but I was happy so it didn't matter. I think Dad wanted to give me the sensation anyway...just don't ask me why he wanted to. Took me forever to get to sleep that night, I think I was up about 3:30 to get a bottle of cold water and I had only doozed in-between at that point.

Today I was up reasonably, 10 o'clock ish which is good considering I thought I would sleep longer (it must be something to do when I drink cider that I fall asleep for ages) but it did mean I got to watch the Moto GP which was good fun. the 125 race was placid but the 250 and 500 was fatastic with bumping and banging and kicking and elbowing it was like they were both 125 races. Then we watched Kinky Boots which is a really nice film, dead canny and a good British feel good about yourself movie which really does make it. Then watched Miss Congeality which is great cause I never seen it, saw the second one first, and it was a really good film with lots of stuff going on. ^_^

Anyway. That's my weekley update done.

Coursework, Dr.Who, Battle Royal and Sunburn

Well since my update last on Tuesday I have pretty much been doing coursework and mowing the lawn which was a hell of a lot of hard work I can tell you. Still on the plus side I've pratically got my private study finished off today, my third draft of Angelus is done and the first draft of the documentary is also complete so I just need to add a couple of finishing touches to the private study then I don't have to worry about that, get the scripts to Peter and then that's them out of the way for the time being which is a good thing.

Then got to start on the theory essay (2500 words urk) and the work experience essay (about the same urk) but I should be okay, I hope leastways. And I'm planning stuff out which is another good thing. *counts the pieces of work on her fingers* Only five pieces? That seems rather odd but it's correct, heh at least it's partially done which is a good thing. Bar the read-up for the theory but that's not too hard to tackle. And I've got to re-watch Paris, Texas as well. Probably do the first draft of the theory and then re-watch it.

Work has been a mix of things lately, some crazy nights of calls and othertimes quiet so I spent six hours of my eight hour shift doing my uni work - whilst taking calls inbetween - which was helpful and it's been pretty okay. Will look to drop my hours down come summer cause I need to for third year.

Also this weekend I saw Dr.Who and that was fastastic fun, a good old fashioned story with lots of things. Hehe *squess* I love werewolf stories - god I am a fantasy freak. Also finally watched BRII and I actually really enjoyed it bar it's a lot harder film to go through compared to BR which sounds ironic but I found the second one a lot harsher and definately more gritty. Some of the stuff was really boarding the line of sickness but being a media student it was acutally quite interesting to watch. Especially since it's more contraversal than the first, not cause of the notorious seen as in my opinion it looks like they're just demolishing the buildings (and there's more than two, there's five in total, just two are standing next to each other), but cos the overall subcontext is an outcry against Iraq and atone point there is hints that a certain country - though they don't explicitiy say which one it is but you can guess - is wanting to bomb the island to stop the threat. Hmmm wonder why the yanks didn't like it too much. I recommend it but be prepared to be horrified by it and put up with the stop start motion.

Also I congratulate it on being one of the few films to successfully kill off half the cast in the first thirty minuets of the two hours and ten minuet film.

Today I've been outside in the garden enjoying the sunshine, once we had re-done the lawns back and front and I had completed my uni work for today, and quite happily continued to read Battle Royal and play fetch with the dog. Only downside is that I've now got sunburn, cause there were no clouds in the sky, but I hope the weather stays like this cause it'll give me a nice break from the coursework. Even if it is just walking the dog. lol

Dusty and Paint

Well, recently I've been a bit busy sorting out things for uni and then going to Red Marley with my parents which was fantasic fun. Basically take pre-1972 bikes aka old British stuff like BSAs, Bonnivels and Indian's and race them up a hill that is pratically virticle with a big dip in the top half of it. Seriously it is great fun and the trials riding the day before was just as interesting. Imagine outside trials riding with a 1952 bike, kinda makes the indoor stuff look a bit on the poor side but that doesn't really matter too much, it's still great fun and hopefully next year we'll be going back which should be fantastic.

Whilst we were there, at the nightime, we went and saw Ice Age 2 and I really enjoyed that film. A definate laugh for anyone and a good old fashioned feel good film for when your down. The ending is a bit iffy but otherwise I have no problems with it and it's just as good as the first.

Today I've been painting the back fence with Dad which wasn't too bad bar the branches kept on stabbing me which was a pain but it's done and the brown fence doesn't need to be done until summer which is also a good thing.

Gotta start back on my coursework tomorrow and get things going with that which shouldn't be too bad.

And unbelievably, Sci-Fi had Battle Royal on and my parents watched it quite happily! Not all the way through cause they both have to be up tomorrow but they both want to see all of it! Whoot! My Dad even said it was good, actually which surprised me. Thank God I've got the DVD ^_^

Anyway, that's me.

Whootness

Hehe, quick update to say that my editing is finished and I've made an 18min long documentary for the company which I am mega happy with. Tis not the best in the world but I'm proud of it.

You'll probably have to buy the movie with the extras to see it though, or I might end up with a copy myself when it's released sometime in Winter ^_^

Sleep

Well, Ryu-chan has been asleep most of the day. Literally.

Got up at 10 cause of the sunlight, I need darkness to sleep properly, or it could have been the fact that the dog was trying to annoye me out of bed I'm not too sure. Got up, watched the Moto GP which rocked and was cool as it was in Quatar with a 20-mile-an-hour cross-wind which is bloody hellish contiditions. Managed to break the small coffee table accidently and attempted to fix it but it didn't work, Dad wasn't too fussed, I think cause I had attempted to sort it all out myself. Took the Dog for a walk and then mooched for a while whilst mum sorted out her essay on the computer and then I fell asleep at about 1pm cause I was knackard - see below as to why. Next thing I know its 18:10 and Mum and Dad are heading off to Lancaster in order to give in her essay, don't ask about that one.

I sleep in for a little longer, till the dog decides again that I'm due up so she annoys me into getting out of bed. Watched Battle Royal and man I really enjoy that film. The concept is quite sick granted but it's just the way it plays out - I really need to show Kal it and watch the second one. I really just hope that the yanks don't try to make a version of it - I've heard rumours that they're going to and it just won't work, don't ask me how it won't work, it just won't.

Anyway in the past week I have been filming in Moor Edge Primary and it was actually quite a lot of fun, bar the first day I could have had a lie in but no one contact me which was an annoyance but can't be helped. The kids were great to work with - even though in the media it's said 'never work with children or animals' I had little problem but there again I've worked with kids plenty before so I know how to get them under control and not playing up too much. Got some really nice pieces of footage and a couple of really good interviews. Just got to edit the bloody thing together and then get it to the company by April 17th so tis all cool. Funnily though I don't know if the camera recorded any sound at all, so my dicaphone was stuck to the side of it the whole time which was interesting and caused some amusement but generally it was percieved as a good idea. ^_^

Started Re-reading Marlfox the other day which was a whole lot of fun and I'm really back into that book. Also got to see Nashi whilst I was filming cause I was in Killy and popped into Matalans for a glance around on my break on the first day.

Work has been canny over the last few days - bar I was going straight from a film shoot to work on four days off the trot which is partially why I'm tired - and nothing major to report about there. Me and Wayne are still going, which is nice, and we're just having fun ^_^

On Friday I wasn't at Kendo - two weeks in a row, heh they're going to think I've quit when I haven't - cause I was at Abba Mania at the Opera House which was a lot of fun and a good night out, bar the fact that I really did want to curl up and go to sleep.

After work on Saturday I watched Tommorow Never Dies which was my first Bond film and one of my favourites and I really liked watching it all.

Well that's it ^_^

Reality Check

Random quote from Manga:
'But I uplugged the computer!
I plugged it back in
But I turned it off!
I turned it on
I shut the program DOWN
I shut it up'

Reality Check: Colin and Catrece

Well another busy week of coursework, work and generally sorting things out. I've been at work six days off the trot due to training for a new set of talk plans and hence forth no kendo for me but by the looks of things I'm not going to get much of a chance to get to that for a little while.

Filming the documentary - at least starting to - tomorrow and working from 8:30am - 4:30pm and then going to work so by the end of the week I may be el knackoed.

Started making the To Do lists, cause I don't want to get too behind with work and trying to sort things out for a group meeting in the third week of the hols but unsure as to how it'll go.

Went out for the Date with Wayne tonight and it was really nice and felt great. He even turned up with flowers for me, refused to let me pay for anything and we just talked and had a really nice fun time ^_^ We're not serious or anything, casue I'm way too busy to be, but he's happy to just go at the pace I want and we'll see how it goes :-)
