Wheeness

Hehe Ryu-chan loves being back at uni! So much fun stuff to do which is fantastic fun and I've got projects already on the go and we're not out of the end of the first week. *bounces around*

Anyway, for my big project this year i'm doing my science fiction film but have as of yet to be allocated a tutor for it. I'm hoping it's going to be either Peter or Ian cause they're both mad script writers but I'm waiting to see what happens. Actually got to talk to Peter the other day with Ashley and Anna which was quite happy and he seemed really pleased that we were all doing scripts again which was great. I've started researching and I've found a book that agrees with my conviction that science fiction and fantasy are not the same genre at all - even though there are cross overs before anyone starts going on at me and slight technical things that do mix the two - so Smiths should definately not be putting the two together. End rant.

For my mini project I'm working on a script with Si and we've met up a couple of times to discuss things and we've got a good thing going so I'm looking forward to that. Theory for once finished mid afternoon on a Tuesday so I don't have to leg it to work straight after but I've got Media Marketing on a Thursday now from 4-6 so I'm going to be late then, unless my shifts get changed. Which I should find out about soon.

I fell over at kendo last week and have a cut on the bridge of my foot so that's kinda been irritating me all week cause it's easy to catch with hot water, putting socks on and other stuff which is just annoying to hell. But last week we did have a lot of fun with the newbies as well which was quite funny. Jane got terrified by one of the girls pratically going at her with the shinai up in the air which I found immensley funny. This week I've got about seven people turning up from the RPG Group I've joined so I'm expecting a load of people to be going "Are you Mohini?" at me casue most only know me by my username. So that's going to be fun.

Work's been pretty okay, we've finally beaten John's team to be the best in community and there are a load of newbies starting as well so the call cques are slowly coming back under control which is a good thing. And I should be finding my shifts out soon too which will be fantastic.

Saw Kallers today as I was walking into Uni early cause my car got fixed. Jess did it to me again by breaking on monday when I was going into town to meet si. This time the rubber bearings that hold the gear level up had finally gone so it wasn't as bad a problem as last time and at least I wasn't stuck in the main road for once which was another good thing. Chatted on for about half-an-hour to her about general stuff and said hello properly to Lynsey (I will learn her nickname eventually) which was nice.

Also last Sunday me and Mam went for a spar sensation thing which I had bought her at christmas and oh my god I was in heaven. Steam room, sauna, jacuzzie and then a facial. It was a fantastic feeling. And the lass had me in hysteric's by going on about how she knew the term sensei from The Turtels which was great fun. I will be heading to the City Pool version in a few weeks and may invite peeps along cause it's great fun.

Right, now to go and start rps.

Busy Bee...

...That's been me.

Yes, I haven't updated for nearly two weeks now but I've been busy sorting out uni stuff, going to kendo, sorting out the house, getting my NUS card, going to RPG groups and other such things that I'm amazed I'm actually still alive.

Though last night I most certainly wasn't. Way too tired but nevermind.

Still I'm back at uni, yipeee! Well actually I've been in for my welcome back thing and forgot the bit of homework that I was meant to take with me *hits on head* but I've got that done and it'll be handed in on Monday which will be a good thing. I'm so going to be a script writer when I finally garduate. Random comment - that probably won't matter much to anyone but me - but I've set my goal for once I get out of uni (after my I finish all the studying bit) which is to get to be an anime dub writer with any of the companies (though working for ADV would be tres cool). I know that they're hollywood but at the moment I'm not that impressed with them and considering the fact that most of my stuff is a little on the old fashioned logical side then I would have to fight like hell. At least anime is not as competative - it still will be but just not as bad. Anyway I know I'm in on Tuesday mornings for theory and thursday afternoons for media marketing (which means I'm going to be late for work on that front but they know so I can't be blamed) so all good.

Kendo has been pretty fun over the last few weeks. Literally had two sessions where it was just me and Mark for the Kque grades and then Denny, Barry, Jane and Mick and Bo for the Dan grades. Great fun and a hell of a lot fo hard work but I likes having that. This friday should be interesting as we've got the newbies starting as Sports Fair went quite well and hopefully we'll get a lot more girls turning up and staying which will be a cool thing. Barry and Denny did the demo we had cause it would be quicker and easier and Bills back! It was so cool cause I was standing talking to Barry and this guy walks up next to me and goes hi, I say hi back turn to finish my convo with Barry and then click to the fact that it's Bill and I hugged him like mad. We didn't know he was coming back at all which made things even better and he's going to be there on Friday which is going to be a cool thing.

In other stuff I finally got to see Apoplypse Now which is a very well done film and deserves it's title of one of the films you must see before you die but there are a couple of ones which are a bit better in my opinion but I can't really fault it. Actually for the shocking bit I prefer Full Metal Jacket first half with the Boot Camp bit in the head (Mamo-chan will know what I'm talking about) cause that bit freaks me out till this day. Oh and Mamo I've finally seen the Godfather Trillogy and the first ones brilliant, the second one is fantastic beyond belief and the final one I couldn't even finish watching cause I was that board with it. Also attempted to watch Red Dragon, which was the modern re-make of Manhunter, and is sucks to hell! They use the same locations and somehow manage to drag out the story longer than is actually needed, go into all this stuff that was only mentioned briefly in passing in Manhunter and generally fart-arse around so by the time you get there is doesn't make sense at all. If you want to see the prequal story to Silence of the Lambs, watch Manhunter cause it's a really good thriller film and even though Hopkins isn't in it the guy who plays Hannible does a very good job. (I think Hopkins borrowed part of his performance from him a bit cause it's very good). Also re-watched Hellboy, which is still a mega cool film, part of Battle Royal but it was the first release version that was edited and the subbing was horrible so I stopped watching that, and saw The Hole which is amazing. It's a small budget British horror, with a rather young Kira Knightly in, but it's so good. Hardly anything gory in it - excluding a loo - but you will not be able to work what's going on in that film and it's just fantastic. Proper old fashioned creeps ville with a story that resolves itself but doesn't at the same time. I'm going to get it just to re-watch it and try and work it out cause I didn't manage it, not even my Dad did.

Finally seen a trailer for Ghost Rider as well and that looks very cool, Death's on a Chopper with flames! So that's one for next year which I think will be very cool and Nicholas Cage is a good actor anyway too.

Not long till the movie I did the documentary for is out, so I'm waiting to here about that cause it should be very interesting and I get the DVD out of it as well which is cool. Chibi-chan liked the doc when she saw it, though I wish I had got a bit more editing time with it. But que serre serra.

Anyway, that's my update done and I'm going to sort other stuff out now.

I get a week off and don't post

Yes, I had last week off but ended up doing so much stuff that I didnt get a chance to post at all. Ironic no?

Anyway, here we go.

Kendo - went a week last friday and omg that was a touch session. Haven't been for three weeks and I get there will all the sensei's, Mark and Tom and that's it. ON a good point though I did get some tutorial time with Darren so I can start working back on my movements and stuff so I get attacks quicker which will hopefully get me better. The only downside was the fact that I kept leaving my kote open all night and every fricken person got me with it which got really annoying...and painful. But still a good laugh. Didn't go the firday just gone cause I went for fish and chips instead but I have to be there this week cause Freshers/Returners is going to be discussed.

Monday - Bank Holiday, had gran over as usual and watched a few films. Including The Three Musketeers - or was that on the sunday? I can't quite remember now - which I found hysterical and so much fun. Then got changed, dropped gran off at home after making tea and came back to meet up with Nashi and Kelly to go and see Cats. Hehe three total fans going to see that show is something to expereince. Yes peeps I will keep an eye out for when it nexts comes around and I'll yell at you all about it. I was driving to Sunderland and we had a fair old laugh whilst going there, only managed to end up lost for about five minuets cause we ended up in the back way somehow. Don't ask me how but we worked out which way to go with no stopping to ask for directions, which is good. Got there and the show was fantastic, if a little funny cause of course The Empire had it's revamp so with all the stuff on stage it was a little on the small side. Three mistakes occured, the first one I missed but Nashi said that Pounicval ended up missing his cue to start in one of the dances and Demeter was killing herself with laughter over it, then when Macavity first appeared he leapt off stage all dramatically and must have mis-judged it cause all you heard was a loud thump then five seconds later he stood up and rushed off, so kinda ouch and then during the fight with Macavity, Munkustrap slipped and then lost his collar and didn't get it back until the very end, which prompted a "He's got his collar back!" from either Kelly or Nashi. Got home safely too, had to go the long way round due to the bridge being closed but there was handy diversion signs. Had some late snacks with Kelly cause Nashi had to go home and then went to bed.

Car - I spent two days sorting out my car in the week off as well. Got the dreaded MOT out of the way with only two fails for a lightbulb and a tire tread but that was easy fixed and only cost the actual MOT price unlike the last time when it cost over 250. Also got my new insurance sorted too, as First Alternative have finished and I had to change but I got a much better deal than what I did last time and don't believe the Diamond advert unless you have four years or more no claims cause they are really expensive. So that's all sorted and I'm covered by the RAC now which is a good thing.

The rest of the time I was helping mum and dad out, writing stories, having baths, walking the dog and just generally getting things out of the way. I know when I'm back at uni now which is a good thing and works been pretty cool too.

That's it.
