Early Warning Shout Out

Hey all, another update for you all but this is more of a quick notification just so peeps don't think I've gone crazy.

I was at the Empire tonight and I've discovered the Starlight Express is returning for three weeks in April so I'm going to be organising a trip for it once again if I get enough peeps. Hell even if it just ends up being me and mum I'm going.

You'll all be getting a call - or an e-mail in the chase of Chibi - sometime tomorrow afternoon after I've sorted out exactly what I'm doing when.

STARLIGHT EXPRESS!!!!

Daft Thing

Random extract from my life:

Me, Mum and Dad are watching Telly and trailer for FFXII comes on.

Me: Leaning forward going ohh! cause it looks pretty

Dad: Frowns and looks at me "Isn't that gramtically incorrect?"

Me: "Eh?"

Dad: "Well it's Final Fantasy whatever...that doesn't quite make sense"

Me: Getting what he's on about, "It's the game series, I think it was origianlly a final attempt by Squreinx not to go under but it took off big time. But number 12's coming out so Whoot!"

Dad: "Whoot?" laughs "What's whoot?"

Me: "It's Whoo with a T added on the end"

Dad: Aha face, "Yeah that's weird..." turns to Mam

Mam: Still laughing

Dad: "You're turning into an owl"

Mam: "Then she would be going hoot"

Yes, educating the parent on the term Whoot...the trailer was cool too.

Killed Five Bosses in Four Hours ^_^

More on the title in a few minuets but I was proud of myself.

Neeways time for the weekly update, I should learn to write things down a lot more but meh I get along.

Monday - was mainly a day of sleeping in and being slightly uninspired to do any of my homework. I did get a small section done however with the characters for Choices so that made me feel semi reasonable about it. That evening though was mucho fun cause me and mum went and saw Tap Dogs! OMG they are so cool, seven big Aussie guys tap dancing whilst dismantelling and building their sets. It was totally unbelievable some of the things they were doing because these were not the usual skinny blokes you see doing tap. They were big guys, built like brick shit-houses and even the small bald one wasn't that well built to be a dancer but they pulled it off so amazingingly and it's been ages since I've been in the Theatre Royal and felt the whole place so alive with electircity. If they ever come around again I'm going to be screaming at you all to come along, even if they turn up in London/Swansea I will most certainly be dancing around like an idiot to go see them.

Tuesday - back to normal and I worked on my treatment, getting to the half-way point and rather enjoying the way that the plot was working. Mooched around and then went to work as there wasn't much else to do and a pretty average day.

Wednesday - ditto as Tuesday but I got my treatment finished and work was the usual routine.

Thursday - slept in till late and decided to take a day off from uni stuff as my head was spinning and I wasn't totally in the mood to be doing so. So I did a couple of things Dad wanted doing and then started playing FFIX cause I started it the other day and wanted to play it. I killed Five Bosses in the four hours I played, being the two tree things in Evil Forest then all the Waltz's. Only got stopped by Waltz 1 and that was cause I attacked the stupid sealion twice instead of the waltz but I got rid of him sharpish the next time I played it. Also it was hysterically funny when I went up against Waltz 2 cause somehow he managed to kill Stiener, Vivi and Zidane but since Dagger had a load of HP left the fight continued so it took me about four attempts to revive the party, get Dagger to heal everyone and then tronce the beggar. Hehe that was fun. As was defeating Waltz 3 as well cause last time it took me bloody ages to get past him but this time I made sure that I was at full health before facing him and kept twating him with Thunder attacks. Yeah for Vivi's Trance Double Magic! Neeways I'll stop going on about FFIX even though I'm back hooked on it again. I spent the rest of the evening having tea and watching telly but feeling quite proud of myself.

Friday - I got up, cleaned the house and did the remaining part of my homework which was the mini-treatment for Choices so that was all good. I then helped out with the shopping and then went to kendo. Discovered that Barry is going to be a Dad and they're going to have a small wedding with no big fuss and then in a couple of years have the big massive get together which I think is very sweet. Had a pretty okay night, just have to watch my bloody footwork cause my cuts are fine which is a good thing. Had a lot of fun and came away with only a additional bruise to the one caused a couple of weeks ago when Mark missed it. Came home and got sorted out before going to sleep.

Saturday - Work was fine up until the last half-hour when I ended up with this right horrible cow of a woman who kept me on for 24 minuets to complain about something. The only problem was that every time I was trying to explain it, she was cutting across me so I had to cut across her but she was a wind up merchant cause every time I got a little bit controlling she was going 'oohhhh' like some spoilt little brat. To say I was not best pleased was an understatement. Then at the end of the call she wanted my name and ext which I gave but I'm not allowed to give out my last name for security reasons and the stupid woman was like 'well I have to when my customers ask me'. Turns out she was a bloody CSR for a different company and I'm sitting there going if you do work in my job why the hell have you just been a total cow towards me when you must deal with the same sort of crap and not like it? Still I got rid of the stupid woman and went hom. Nearly got clipped by some prick on the Moorfarm Roundabout because he didn't want a big flashy car to cut in front of me when he was in the outside lane behind me going straight on at the roundabout and guess where I was going to? Luckily his mate had obviously yelled at him cause he looked rather sheepish. Get home, get changed and go out to Customes House (we're turning it into our second home I swear) to see a comedien. It was a pretty good night with the first guy being better than the main but he was using audience interaction about political stuff which is fine if you're down south but if you're from up North then we're a lot more reserved about politics considering all the crap from it usually ends up at our doorstep. But still it was a good night and cheered me up no end.

Sunday - Slept in yet again but heh I wanted to and no one woke me up so whos to complain? There wasn't an RPG session on either so alls fine that way to. Had a bath after seeing parents off - they went for a run somewhere - and took the dog for a walk. Then copied some CDs for Mam and paid a visit to Gran to sort out her phone as she had a fall when she was away at Peters. It was actually a really fun couple of hours, going through shoes and listening to her whittle on about nothing in particular. It was a nice thing to just have her like that but heh we'll have to see how her side goes now. Came home and made a couple of calls cause I had tried to organise a turn up and go to the cinema but it fell through which was a bit of a downer but not really bad. Ended up watching ROTK but fast-forwading all the bits that annoyed us and not even watching the end. Played online for a bit and then went to bed.

Also this week I've been watching .hack//roots and Death Note via Youtube and both are very cool series indeedy. I highly recommend them just don't get too creeped out by Death Note whatever you do.

A finishing off update

Heh just finishing off the week so that I'm not trailing behind.

Saturday finishing - I got all the tasks done which I was chuffed with and now I'm only left with having to write up the treatment this next week so shouldn't be too bad. Ended up totally hyper by the end of the evening for no apparent reason but it was nice to be that happy again.

Sunday/today - I got up reasonably early for a sunday and mooched about, played Mah Jogh again with mam and she beat me twice but I didn't care. It's just a fun game to try and play - even if you're not playing the proper rules ^_^. I then went to my RPG group and started the Ravenloft Campaign and I already adore the setting. It's semi-horror/gothic and very much mystery and suspence. Definately going to enjoy those sessions. Came home, got changed and was out the house within ten minuets as Gran was taking us out for a meal for mam's birthday. Very pleasent evening out which was a good thing. Now going to muck about online.

Two weeks of the Five W's

These last two weeks have been hetic and the five I'm refering to you should know so I'm not posting them up here. Oh and if you're wondering why I'm writing this on a saturday at 15:07 there is a simple reason. I booked time off from work cause Mam and Dad wanted to go out today for part of mum's birthday and I was meant to go with them but since I had a bottle of Rose last night Mum choose to let me stay here bless her.

Neeways, time to get on with the update, glad I wrote it down at work last saturday.

Last Weeks stuff

Monday - Went to hand in my Treatment for Peter who had forgotten that we were handing ours in today bless him. He was totally stressed out with something that the Uni had decided to do, he had several other tutorials to do and then the first years were to be starting the 25-shot movie that day so he was not best pleased. I had met up with Chantel though so it was quite funny and you've got to love him for his wildness. Came home and mooched till work which was pretty okay.

Tuesday - Thought there was going to be a lecutre but had found out the previous night that it was running on a bi-weekly basis so that was good. Spent my time cleaning out under my best, yes Ryu-chan has started to clean up her room :p. Work was pretty okay here to, more like the usual stuff but meh.

Wednesday - went in for a meeting which I thought was on at 2pm and it turned out I had gotten the wrong day. Got caught up with a very stroppy Photography Lecturer who had the cheek to tell me off for opening the door to what is technically our lecture room to find him in there. But there again that lot think themselves the best of the best and are just annoying and you've heard me rant about them before so I'll stop there. Work was pretty much the same as usual with the systems going a little haywire which was fun.

Thursday - Dad woke me up cause I nearly overslept for meeting Mark and Lee up as we were going to be doing an animatic that day. I get there with ten minuets to spare and Mark turns up on time which is fine. Lee didn't turn up for another hour and ten minuets after telling us three times he was only going to be ten. To say that we were not impressed with him was an understatement was unreal but we still managed to get the thing done in plenty of time for me and my parents to go to the theatre to see a political play. I wish I had stayed at home. 'Blasted' is supposed to be an anti-war modern piece of theartre and I could have written a better one when I was ten. Actually a ten-year-old could probably write a better anti-war story right now. It was horrible, crap and to make it even better flipping Art House! So we had all the toffs in going 'oh yes it's a wonderous piece' and all the rest of it and we're sitting there going what the frag I am watching here? I mean some of it had nice pro-ocative things but it was poorly acted, had no point to it and for some reason had a random war start up and a racist reporter using all the wrong terms but the setting was in Leeds. I kid you not, Leeds. Of all the bloody, pissing (which there nearly was) places to set it the writer sets it in Leeds. Birmingham, London's west end or even South Africa or something would have made it at least make some form of sense but no. Leeds. And I swear they couldn't have got a more flabby arsed male to play the reporter. If you want to know the full story ask me about it some time at the pub and I'll go into detail. Was glad when we got hom and Battlestar was on cause that was a totally cool episode ^_^

Friday - Or the day when I never once stopped. I got up early to go to Miss Arkley's cause she was being one of my references for my application forms and had a good long chat with her which was great. Then went to No Frills to get some storage boxes cause I wanted to start putting things away due to the film shoot that was going to take place (it hasn't happened yet and we've got no confirmation of any filming dates) and came home. Sorted my CDs and DVDs into the boxes, frightening the life out of Dad when he woke up and reaslised what I was doing which was quite funny. Took the dog for a walk and then drove Dad into town to pay his union because I wanted to go back to No Frills to get some more boxes. So we head off at about 4:30 and we go down Osbourn Road to avoid the snarl up at the Blueshouse Round about. It takes us almost an hour to get from the end of Osbourn to the roundabout just opposite the Carriage. So I park up and wait for him, moving my car around when other people want out. I then go up Benton bank cause it's easier that way and go to No Frills, getting Dad to help me carry the boxes - well that had been my plan anyway but I don't think he minded to much. We got home and thought that we would have a half-hour wiat till mam called us to go shopping. Five minuets after we walked through the door the phone rings. So we go shopping, come home, put the stuff away. I then iron my Kendo Gear cause I've decided I'm going and catch the back end of the news before going out to Kendo. I had an good session, not my best ever but given everything I had been doing that day I wasn't expecting much. Mark managed to give me a big bruise after going for kote four times in a row, hitting only one of them and getting me painfully on the last one after I had told him he was missing them. Barry also named me 'The Ski-Master' cause we were praticing ski trusts and even though I was doing them slightly wrong I got 19 out of 20 which made me smile. I then stood outside in the cold talking to Jo for about fourty minuets once again which was cool though we both agreed next time we would do it in the pub. I then came home, had a good old fashioned scrub in the shower with the dead sea salt to refershen mysely and then had tea whilst watching The Emporer's New Groove. I forgot how funny that film could be and it really cheered me up.

Saturday - I was at work and it was pratically dead for the first time in ages so I got a few new ideas written down which I was happy about. Once I was finished I went bowling with Kelly, Chris (her new boyfriend) and Mandy and had a really good time. I'm still pretty useless when it comes to bowling but I did manage to get a couple of half-strikes and a strike which is bloody good to me but I was there more to have fun than anything else so it was well worth it. We then went back to Kelly's and played Trivial pursuit, where we all ended up using the yellow cards cause the green none of us could get, and then Combatiblitiy. A very fun night indeed.

Sunday - I was up again to go to The Customs House but this time for a meal and cinema deal. I recommend that we all do it once saturday cause it's really great fun and definately well worth it. We saw Miss Potter and it's a great little British movie, very heritage style but with it's own bit of social commentary and a brilliant cast. Rene shines as Beatrix - which surprised me considering I really didn't think much of her as Briget - and Ewan Mcgregor is fantastic. I highly recommend seeing it if you get a chance.

Right, now onto this week (as if you haven't got enought to read all ready)((skives off to Gaia for five minuets))

This Weeks Stuff

Uni - after seeing Peter on Monday I'm in the process of re-writing the treatment but I know now if I had handed it in like that I would be at a firm 2:1 with it which is a really good thing for me. The only real reason I need to re-write it was to add in some more conflicts and dangers and to introduce Tech into the story a lot more so I've been re-writing it by hand over the last week and I'm on the final bit so to say so that'll be finished off later. I was also in for my contemporary ideas modual and it sounds like it's going to be a very cool course where we look at the social meanings in various pieces of work which is definately cool. The assesment sounds pretty clever to cause it's a pitch on where our work fits into contemporary meaning. Let's see Dome happens to be about global warming and how one day we're going to be in a hell of a lot of shit and humans are quite bad and idiotic at times. So that's going to be fun. Was also in for the meeting I sighed last wednesday which turned into an hour long thing to sort out what we were all going to have to do cause the uni's decided to blend us in with the drama, photography, fine art, textiles and one other department so that means they can use our editing suits and cameras and there's nothing we can do about it. So that's going to be fun, glad I don't have to worry about anything like that.

Work - has been work generally.

Social life - a little more on the quiet side but I've been tired on a number of occassions and trying to balance what I'm doing with what I've yet to do. But I was out yesterday for Mam's brithday which was cool and she loved the Magh Jonhg set I got her though the rules make no sense what so ever. Out tomorrow for DnD and then a meal with Gran (pulls a face) and out monday to see Tap Dogs.

Yeah...I've been busy. Still got to finish off the homework tonight, do DnD Homework make cookies and then chill out. All the fun in the fair most definately ^_^

I know I'm due but I've got a lot on. Hopefully should update thursday
