Two weeks of the Five W's
These last two weeks have been hetic and the five I'm refering to you should know so I'm not posting them up here. Oh and if you're wondering why I'm writing this on a saturday at 15:07 there is a simple reason. I booked time off from work cause Mam and Dad wanted to go out today for part of mum's birthday and I was meant to go with them but since I had a bottle of Rose last night Mum choose to let me stay here bless her.
Neeways, time to get on with the update, glad I wrote it down at work last saturday.
Last Weeks stuff
Monday - Went to hand in my Treatment for Peter who had forgotten that we were handing ours in today bless him. He was totally stressed out with something that the Uni had decided to do, he had several other tutorials to do and then the first years were to be starting the 25-shot movie that day so he was not best pleased. I had met up with Chantel though so it was quite funny and you've got to love him for his wildness. Came home and mooched till work which was pretty okay.
Tuesday - Thought there was going to be a lecutre but had found out the previous night that it was running on a bi-weekly basis so that was good. Spent my time cleaning out under my best, yes Ryu-chan has started to clean up her room :p. Work was pretty okay here to, more like the usual stuff but meh.
Wednesday - went in for a meeting which I thought was on at 2pm and it turned out I had gotten the wrong day. Got caught up with a very stroppy Photography Lecturer who had the cheek to tell me off for opening the door to what is technically our lecture room to find him in there. But there again that lot think themselves the best of the best and are just annoying and you've heard me rant about them before so I'll stop there. Work was pretty much the same as usual with the systems going a little haywire which was fun.
Thursday - Dad woke me up cause I nearly overslept for meeting Mark and Lee up as we were going to be doing an animatic that day. I get there with ten minuets to spare and Mark turns up on time which is fine. Lee didn't turn up for another hour and ten minuets after telling us three times he was only going to be ten. To say that we were not impressed with him was an understatement was unreal but we still managed to get the thing done in plenty of time for me and my parents to go to the theatre to see a political play. I wish I had stayed at home. 'Blasted' is supposed to be an anti-war modern piece of theartre and I could have written a better one when I was ten. Actually a ten-year-old could probably write a better anti-war story right now. It was horrible, crap and to make it even better flipping Art House! So we had all the toffs in going 'oh yes it's a wonderous piece' and all the rest of it and we're sitting there going what the frag I am watching here? I mean some of it had nice pro-ocative things but it was poorly acted, had no point to it and for some reason had a random war start up and a racist reporter using all the wrong terms but the setting was in Leeds. I kid you not, Leeds. Of all the bloody, pissing (which there nearly was) places to set it the writer sets it in Leeds. Birmingham, London's west end or even South Africa or something would have made it at least make some form of sense but no. Leeds. And I swear they couldn't have got a more flabby arsed male to play the reporter. If you want to know the full story ask me about it some time at the pub and I'll go into detail. Was glad when we got hom and Battlestar was on cause that was a totally cool episode ^_^
Friday - Or the day when I never once stopped. I got up early to go to Miss Arkley's cause she was being one of my references for my application forms and had a good long chat with her which was great. Then went to No Frills to get some storage boxes cause I wanted to start putting things away due to the film shoot that was going to take place (it hasn't happened yet and we've got no confirmation of any filming dates) and came home. Sorted my CDs and DVDs into the boxes, frightening the life out of Dad when he woke up and reaslised what I was doing which was quite funny. Took the dog for a walk and then drove Dad into town to pay his union because I wanted to go back to No Frills to get some more boxes. So we head off at about 4:30 and we go down Osbourn Road to avoid the snarl up at the Blueshouse Round about. It takes us almost an hour to get from the end of Osbourn to the roundabout just opposite the Carriage. So I park up and wait for him, moving my car around when other people want out. I then go up Benton bank cause it's easier that way and go to No Frills, getting Dad to help me carry the boxes - well that had been my plan anyway but I don't think he minded to much. We got home and thought that we would have a half-hour wiat till mam called us to go shopping. Five minuets after we walked through the door the phone rings. So we go shopping, come home, put the stuff away. I then iron my Kendo Gear cause I've decided I'm going and catch the back end of the news before going out to Kendo. I had an good session, not my best ever but given everything I had been doing that day I wasn't expecting much. Mark managed to give me a big bruise after going for kote four times in a row, hitting only one of them and getting me painfully on the last one after I had told him he was missing them. Barry also named me 'The Ski-Master' cause we were praticing ski trusts and even though I was doing them slightly wrong I got 19 out of 20 which made me smile. I then stood outside in the cold talking to Jo for about fourty minuets once again which was cool though we both agreed next time we would do it in the pub. I then came home, had a good old fashioned scrub in the shower with the dead sea salt to refershen mysely and then had tea whilst watching The Emporer's New Groove. I forgot how funny that film could be and it really cheered me up.
Saturday - I was at work and it was pratically dead for the first time in ages so I got a few new ideas written down which I was happy about. Once I was finished I went bowling with Kelly, Chris (her new boyfriend) and Mandy and had a really good time. I'm still pretty useless when it comes to bowling but I did manage to get a couple of half-strikes and a strike which is bloody good to me but I was there more to have fun than anything else so it was well worth it. We then went back to Kelly's and played Trivial pursuit, where we all ended up using the yellow cards cause the green none of us could get, and then Combatiblitiy. A very fun night indeed.
Sunday - I was up again to go to The Customs House but this time for a meal and cinema deal. I recommend that we all do it once saturday cause it's really great fun and definately well worth it. We saw Miss Potter and it's a great little British movie, very heritage style but with it's own bit of social commentary and a brilliant cast. Rene shines as Beatrix - which surprised me considering I really didn't think much of her as Briget - and Ewan Mcgregor is fantastic. I highly recommend seeing it if you get a chance.
Right, now onto this week (as if you haven't got enought to read all ready)((skives off to Gaia for five minuets))
This Weeks Stuff
Uni - after seeing Peter on Monday I'm in the process of re-writing the treatment but I know now if I had handed it in like that I would be at a firm 2:1 with it which is a really good thing for me. The only real reason I need to re-write it was to add in some more conflicts and dangers and to introduce Tech into the story a lot more so I've been re-writing it by hand over the last week and I'm on the final bit so to say so that'll be finished off later. I was also in for my contemporary ideas modual and it sounds like it's going to be a very cool course where we look at the social meanings in various pieces of work which is definately cool. The assesment sounds pretty clever to cause it's a pitch on where our work fits into contemporary meaning. Let's see Dome happens to be about global warming and how one day we're going to be in a hell of a lot of shit and humans are quite bad and idiotic at times. So that's going to be fun. Was also in for the meeting I sighed last wednesday which turned into an hour long thing to sort out what we were all going to have to do cause the uni's decided to blend us in with the drama, photography, fine art, textiles and one other department so that means they can use our editing suits and cameras and there's nothing we can do about it. So that's going to be fun, glad I don't have to worry about anything like that.
Work - has been work generally.
Social life - a little more on the quiet side but I've been tired on a number of occassions and trying to balance what I'm doing with what I've yet to do. But I was out yesterday for Mam's brithday which was cool and she loved the Magh Jonhg set I got her though the rules make no sense what so ever. Out tomorrow for DnD and then a meal with Gran (pulls a face) and out monday to see Tap Dogs.
Yeah...I've been busy. Still got to finish off the homework tonight, do DnD Homework make cookies and then chill out. All the fun in the fair most definately ^_^
