The stuff I've been doing and last day of long hair!

Well after my rather dire post last wednesday I'm feeling a lot better. I was kinda in a bad mood as I had just learned about a sound project that was going to over-shoot my work schedual (4-6 when I start at 17:30) and had also realised on the bus going home that day that I had a driving lesson booked for 10:15 -11:15 exactly the time when I I booked my hair appointment. So it was a text message to Ken (driving instuctor) asking to change it over, being stuck in a really hot and stuffy bus, being sick when I got off it (thank god I had eaten a sandwich before hand) and just general stress.

Sorry if I had anyone thinking that it was something else but I'm generally getting sorted now. Ken called me back on Friday (just before the end of my Film Theory Letcure) and I sorted that out so my driving lessons next week are 7:45-8:45 Monday and Tuesday and 13:45 - 14:45 Wednesday and then the test is next Saturday at 8:40am...help! Still I'm okay and I will do my very best - that's the least I can do.

I'm trying to get a flexi-work shift for Tuesdays at work and Babbs my new supervisor is really trying to help me out - and Mike as well cause he's in a similar situation but he's a year 3 rather than a fresher (yes I still use that term for myself but I think it sounds cool). So either I'll be working 18:30-22:30 on Tuesdays or they might drop it but I don't know yet.

Uni's really been fun this week, a right mix of things which I'm happy about. I think I've gone on about the earlier stuff so I'll jump and go to Thursday and Friday. On Thurs I had amination as usual and we went through our story boards with the whole group and went through the various technicques we could use for it. I'm going ahead with my dance one and I'm going to be doing a selection of dancing clothes copied in a rota-scope style (erm...non tech language Ryu) - basically it's a free hand style of drawing from a piece of film footage - a little bit like some of the sections in Gravatation but they're actual copies of real life shots. Hey - I really need to watch that just to be able to spot that sort of thing ^_^

Went to work on Thursday as normal and it was generally okay - still in billing overflow but if the customers aren't bad then I don't really mind - much. Also watched the backend of Battlestar Galatic Part 1 movie and I'm hooked on it. Still got Part 2 to watch (Dad recorded it for me) so I might do that later on.

Friday I did the upstairs of the house whilst listening to the J-pop selections I got off Baka-chan (and believe me they get listened to on a frequent basis ^_~) and then went and caught the bus for my 11:30 start of Film Theory. Whilst I was waiting I bought a bottle of water for 40p which was huge and I still haven't finished drinking it. But hey it's going to pay for itself as I'll keep re-using the bottle ^_^ You really didn't need to know that but meh.

Watched 'The Killers' which is a classic Film Noir from Hollywood and I think I might become a fan of the style - can't really be called a genre as such but I won't bore you with all of the details. If you get a chance to watch it or any Film Noir I would highly recommend them as they're a darker side of human nature and very logical in the way that they work things out. Okay I know I sound like a media student but what do you really expect? I AM A MEDIA STUDENT!

Anyway moving on...

Went to Uno's afterwards and had a Calanzoi pizza which was really nice and then I went to Kendo as usual and it was so much fun. I'm the only girl in the group of new starters so I stand out anyway and it's quite funny. Learned from Sensai that I actually do a different bow/kneel to the lads cause I'm a lass. Instead of having to go down on my haunchers with my ankles touching I have to kneel with my left knee on the floor and my right foot flat. I'm not quite sure as to why but Dash and Kamo-sama thought that I was the lucky one.

Mat likes his Japanese nickname - true it was after Dash said that it sounded really cool and then changed his voice saying it but I think it's going to stick ^_^. Just need one fore Dash the mad hyper one. Might be something along the lines of Genki-chan but I don't know. Heh I'll talk it over with him ^_^

We went through a series of cuts again (jumping back to Kendo) and I think I might have some of them slightly worried. Reason being that part of the mechanism of Kendo is the Kei or Spirit which comes from you. That's why you always here the Samurai's screaming and shouting when they're in battel cause they've got to summon their Kei to fight well. It's partly a traditional thing and it's also something used to scare your openent or catch them off guard. Let's just say a few of you have heard me shout and I'm kinda going for it. Most of the lads - excluding Kamo and another lad whose been doing Karate or Judo - are still a bit timid of shouting but I'm not. But I think the sensai's don't mind that at all - I know one of them (David or Allan can't quite remeber his name) is really happy to have a girl back in the group once again. He keeps on talking to me and tells me of other girls that have been in the club.

So I think I'm going to be fine. *Grabs Shinai, goes into stance, raises it and does a men (head) cut* MEN!

Hehe...gomen nasai...didn't mean to scare people. ^_^

After that went over to Kamo's again but this time to watch a new anime film he had bought. Before we could start watching it though the fire alarm went off (for the second time in about 24hrs according to Kamo) and we ended up outside waiting for everything to be cleared. No idea what set it off - I'll ask Laura on Monday or Tuesday (dep on when I see her - and she's a mate from Media) and find out what happened.

Once that was over - nothing burnt down - we went back and watched Toyoko Godfathers and it is really cool and very sentimental. Basically it's about three homeless people who find an adandoned baby girl - who they call Kiyoko - at Christmas and they try to return her to her mother. They is a hell of a lot of back story and it's really worth a shot - might not be the best thing in the world but it's a feel good film for christmas. ^_^ I'm gonna try and get hold of a copy for myself cause it's just one you can watch time and time again.

Got in from that near 12 - mam was kind enough to come and pick me up ^_^ Thank you mam - and then was up for eight for work. Went through my standard eight hours which were okay - I swear people are slightly nicer on the weekend - and talked to Venessa another mate from work who I hadn't seen since last week. Then came home, had tea and waited for Chibi to come over.

Ended up staying up till two in the moring watching Disney's Robin Hood - don't ask why we just did - and woke up this morning (she slept over), had breakfast, chatted a little and then she went home to do some work. Currently I'm copying a selection of books from the Uni Libaray - and it is work cause I need them to study from - and listening to Love Hina music which Kamo chan copied for me as I gave him .Hack//Extra, Pretear and the three selections. I got loads back so my colletction is steadily growing and I think that I might have to start collecting more series or copying them ^_^

God I've waffeled on a bit haven't I? Still it's quite fun to just write everything down - it really does clear your head really well - same with Kendo for me.

Anyway as I have stated in the title this is also my last day with long hair. I am getting it fully cut tomorrow so it'll be really cool and short. I can't wait for it ^_^ I'm going have shorter hair than I've ever had before and I don't care. It's going to look fab and be virtually no hassel at all ^_^

Hopefully you'll get to see it either by photo for Sparkie and Baka or next Sun when I have you lot out at the cinema. It's going to be for one of the two Cs - Congratualtions or Comiserations - depending on how Sat goes. I'll text you all about it and try and get it sorted out. (Gomen nasai in advance baka-chan and sparkie but when you're back we'll probably all be doing things then - I promise)

Well if you've managed to get through all of this without thinking that I'm a freak or off my head then I commend you. If you haven't then...well...yeah...whatever.

Going to go and find some stuff to do.

Catch ya through the week ^_^

I have several comments, but the only one I'll actually say is this:
What the hell are you talking about?! OF COURSE Film Noir is a genre! :-P
