Finally
Well, I've finally gotten around to doing an update and I do appologuise for the length of time it's taken me but hopefully I'll explain everything in this one so you can all understand what I've been up to.
Amecon - what a weekend! I can't believe I haven't actually updated sooner about this but I've been busy trying to sort everything else out that it's been totally hetic. I've got pictures but haven't quite finished uploading them all yet so once that's done I'll get them up on here for you all. Baka's are a little better for the masquarade but I got a couple of cute ones of her and boyfriend so it's pretty cool. Anyway, on the Friday the journey down was pretty cool with me and Nashi pratically being on the same trains just not in the same seats which was interesting as on the way down she had left her bag on the seat whilst she came to chat to me and ended up being called for because of the security risks. lol it was quite funny thinking about it. So we get there and after get some money we start off walking to the con following a group of about five people, one of them called Heather, cause they looked like con attendies (one had pink hair) and being followed by a group of gothic looks lads who turned out to be also going to the con due to the t-shirts and the naruto symbols. By the time we got to registrations - after passing the guy who had been Mr Panda at the last one - the wayward group had grown to about twenty plus people all looking for registrations. We got there, got registered with Kal-chan which was quite funny and then got some crappy directions from a guy about how to get to our accomdation. Got to it and nice size room for student dorms, couldn't even call it a shoebox cause it was that big. Anyway got changed and headed back to the con with Nashi and watched the last ep of some wierd darkness thing and then the first two eps of Wolfs Raine - after food cause we were pretty hungry. Then we met up with Baka and Craig with Nashi spotting them because of Craigs Afro, which is totally natural which was quite funny. Chatted on and then went to the Dealers Room and spent money. After that we went to the opening cermony which turned into a good laugh because Monica Royal had to do 'The Birdie Song' (or the Chicken dance as she called it) because they had techincal difficulties getting the amvs to load for the start which turned out quite funny overall. After that we went to the Press ADV Voice actor pannel which Will got us in for as long as we were quiet which we were, then went to the Pop Quiz for a few rounds before heading off for the AMV comptertion which proved to be very fun and sorted out what we all wanted to do tomorrow and headed to bed.
*rusehs off to docs to get mams sick note*
On the Saturday I cosplayed as Rosette from Chrono Crusade, though I was the dark version because it was bought and if you have ever tried finding a navy blue dress like that you'll probably know how tricky it is. I was ready and waiting outside for Nashi when suddenly I hear 'You're a nun with a gun!' and turn around to find an Ed cosplayer whose in a dress. We get talking and it's Don who was really cool and we made up the excuse that Ed had lost a bet with the Colnel and that was why he was in a skirt. We were also joined by a guy who was cosplaying as the female state alcamist who I can't remember the name of. Nashi said she would meet us up later so we head to breakfast - or a cosplay breakfast as it turned out to be. Met up with the others and then went to the ADV voice actors pannels with Monica, Greg Ayres and Chris Patton which were really funny and rather insightful as they talked about dub script writing so I've got a basic idea of what it could be like. Yes, Ryu-chan wants to aim to be a ADV Dub Scriptwriter and if I get there I will be screaming so loud it will be unreal. Anyway after that we watched anime, went around the dealers room and I spent more money again, then I headed off to The Lolita Unbirthday Tea-party because it sounded interesting and I definately thing I could get into that cause it's all the dark gothic styles of dress with different meanings and things which just sounds really appealing to me. After that I was looking for the others but my mobile phone had died at this point in time so I couldn't call them, no actually correction I sent them a message and then the phone died. So I waited in the Games Room, totally mucked up on DDR but it was a laugh anyway and then we went and watched the next two eps of Wolfs Rain. Then we went to the Maskarade or however the damn things spelt, which was a whole lot of fun with techincal difficulites and the last lot of cosplayers all being from Bleach who had thought that they were all going to come on in a couple of groups - as I think it was the entire cast - but they all had to come on individually which ended up being an ironic guessing game. Some of the costumes were fantastic though, just a shame my camera didn't pick them all up too well and the idiot in front of my kept moving which really wasn't helping. Somewhere along the line I met Mouse-chan who is a friend of Baka's on Gaia and we became quiet good mates over the time so that was all fun. We did eat as well a few times but I can't remember when exactly and then me Mouse and Nashi went to the Yuri Pannel. It was quite interesting once we got rid of the super-drunk-mad-raving-yuri-hentai-fangirls who were quite scary and most of the stuff they showed was Shoujo-ai which is the sort of thing I like - stop looking like that! - and was quite friendly. And it didn't mentally scar Nashi like the yaoi pannel did last year. Went to bed after that with the windows open as I did not have my phone charger because I thought it was going to last the four days and it didn't.
Next day I got up reasonably early and got washed, dressed and out which was all fine and dandy. Had breakfast and then mooched around the dealers room again but this time didn't spend any money, until Baka showed me the Kyo Beads which I bought, and then we headed to the Chris Pattern pannel cause he was unwell on saturday and then got the DVDs signed. So the first disc of Pretear is autographed by Chris and Monica and the first disc of Chrono is autographed by Greg and Monica. ^_^ *squee* so they're going to be kept in pristeen condition which means I'll have to buy the first disc of pretear again and then I may go for the box-set for Chrono. Then we went and watched the first ep of Negima with poor Greg getting embarressed over his English accent and disappearing, he had told us all of this prior and appologuised for it but when it came on it was so funny that the whole video room fell about laughing hysterically but I really enjoyed the it. We also watched the fifth ep too and that was a bit better on the accent as Greg had taken over it at that point which was great fun and I really enjoyed that series and I will probably be getting it. Then we went for food, came back to the same video room and watched the first two eps of Trinity Blood (but shhhh no ones meant to have seen it as of yet) and OMG! That is one cool show with loads of sci-fi references and all sorts of visual tricks. I am going to be buying it when it comes out for definate cause it's that cool. Then we went to the Omake which was quite funny with some good bits, which I think youtube has but I haven't searched entirely through that all yet. Then the closing cermony which was good and the winners were announced for the various comps but I hadn't entered any of them so that was fun. Then went back to the dorms, got changed and went back for the cosplay ball and I spent about three and a hald hours dancing with Mouse, Nashi and Mouse's friend who was carrying a plushi around which was really fun. It was a proper old fashioned disco with really cool tracks and the whole place was dancing for ages which was great and we had a guy who had two twirly lights and the skinny guy who decided to strip which proved to be rather interesting. It was just a really fun and good way to end the con.
Nearly didn't get up the next day but I was ready to go and we headed off with little problems, bar Nashi thinking at one point that the Matrix had glitched cause a guy walked past us twice and she hadn't seen him go back to speak to the other person.
Fantastic weekend and I was so knackard after it but so worth it. I'm planning on going to Ayacon next year, once they actually release dates and stuff so I will be telling peeps about it all when I get the chance. And I will have a load of pics up soon too.
Work - has been busy and pretty normal. Bar the fact that Ahmed loved getting his Grunty Plushi and apparently spend half the night making it walk into things.
Mam - right, Mam went into hospital after Amecon to get the zist from her overeries removed and ended up staying in a little longer than what we were expecting but she's fine and dandy right now. Just healing and trying to get back on track which is a really good thing. I'm helping out around the house more and doing cooking which has turned out pretty okay which is a good thing. Mam keeps getting board and is in a tidy mood so I think sometime soon we're cleaning the spare room out which will be interesting considering the amount of stuff that's in here. But she's doing good and there's no need to worry which is a good thing. Gran's been over a few times and it's been interesting but we've gotten through it all which is a good thing and life's only just a little different from normal which is also a good thing.
Kendo - nope, haven't been for obvious reasons but I'm going tonight.
FITS - finally got the next couple of chapters written which makes me feel really happy and rather good. ^_^
And that's all folks.
