Yeah...it killed me
Well this was supposed to be done yesterday but I overslept and it didn't get done. So I'm going to do it now.
Work - has been reasonable, things changing and all hell breaking loose but you probably heard about that on the news. Interesting social things going on but I won't go into them becasue they're not really my concern and I dont think it would be fair on the person it effects.
Kendo - heh I've been having so much fun there. Haven't been to too many pratices because I've been running around with birthday weekends, trips and other things but the ones I've gone to have been really cool and fun. The first one I went back to a few weeks ago consisted of me, Mark, Cheral, Jo and Mick which was a really high paced lesson that was great fun and pushed me. True I hadn't been there in a few weeks and Mick was trying to get me to go at my old speed but I learnt from that one last year and decided to take it easyish to break back into my stide.
Then went to a fairly normal session with most people being there and had a good laugh too. We did a fairly ordinary routine and had a good old time in Enshin Shia as Darren decided to make us do Kie-gario-Enshin which basically involves staying within a circle and attack your oppent by moving in and out at the same time in order to attack and score a point or be blocked and straight out to try again. Ended up against Jo on my first go and landed flat on my arse. Which was quite funny but I got back up and started again which was fine. Then we went to Normal Enshin and me and Cheral - one of the lasses there - faced each other and it was such a fun fight. I can't quite recall when I had a fight that I enjoyed as much for a long time. I think that it was Cheral really getting the hang of fighting and the fact the Sensai's were yelling at her to get a move on. It's quite strange cause they don't have to tell me to fight someone as frequently now and they wanted her to beat me whilst the students - being Mark and Thomas - wanted me to beat her but give her a good fight too. So much fun.
The final one I went to (because I didn't go this Friday) ended up being me, Cheral, Mark, Thomas - a new kid we've got whose in a wheelchair but could do so well in a disabled team if they ever get one - and Barry. We did circuits for the main part - as Barry hadn't been aware that he was going to be teaching - and then did Keigari-geio for about fifteen minuets, I was with Cheral so it was a good steady session. Then went to the pub afterwards for a drink as it was my b/day weekend and mum had ordered me to. Of course me being me, I forgot to eat something whilst I was drinking and at 3am in the morning (or around that time) I had a proper hang-over, was being sick in the loo and a pounding head-ache. Just to make you all laugh I had had a pint and a half of cider and black and was pretty okay. Not a good idea to drink on an empty stomach after doing one of those sessions. But still worth it and got a good old fashioned chat with Mark and Cheral which was all good.
Couple other points from Kendo, Bo got his Sho-dan (black belt) so he's now sensai-san which I think is fantastic and poor old Bill failed his exams which is a really bad thing so we're waiting to see if he's going to come back and do them again, which means he will be back at the dojo, or if he's going to do national service because he's greek. So fingers crossed for him.
The Brithday -
Well, as there was a pretty big thing post - as in capital letters that is - my parents did indeed take me Skydiving the weekend before my birthday, it was meant to actually be on my brithday but the place was closed for a steam ralley that was going on. OMG it's so totally cool!
Freefalling at 180mph with the wind rushing around you and I can hardly describe it. It's just a totally cool sensation that makes me smile every time I think about it. Of course my parents were widning me up about it all the way there which was a hassel but so worth it when I actually got there. Got a DVD of the actual jump as well so when you're next over I will put it on and you can see it all happening.
For my actual Birthday, my parents took me back to the same area and we went to the National Museum of Film and Photography and I got to play with a camera, a darlek and run around with all sorts of animation, film, tv characters and all sorts. It's a fantastic place and really well worth it should you get a chance to go. It's a media students paradice and it's got the IMAX theartre. WOW it's huge, as in humougouse and the 3D viewings are totally cool. We saw a space one and OMG it was just fantastic. Shame they didn't have any of the pixar animations going but can't be helped. Then we went to an Indian Resturant and had a nice meal too which was good.
On the Monday night we went to The Theartre By The Lake, one of my favourite theartres in the whole of Britian and saw Noel Cowards 'Private Lives'. Absoultely fantastic play with great diaolog and some incredible acting. Well worth the watch and so much fun. Basically shows the dark side of love and plays on the conception of 'can't live with, can't live without'. So so cool.
Amecon -
Yes I know I haven't been yet but I've been organising stuff for it as well. So got my train tickets book the other day which is a good thing and I'm leaving on Friday at 8:24am so that'll have me there for 11:30ish which is quite a good thing.
Sorted out my cosplays too, think they're all finished now but I'll check that tomorrow. I'm going as Kimono Kitty - wearing my blue kimono and the Rocky Kitty Ears, got a tail as well -, Samurai - misc though I might wear the ears again and it's so cool I do Kendo -, Dark Rosette - Chrono Crusade, would be normal bar trying to find a navy blue dress is next to impossible so I'm in a black version hence why I'm dark so that's going to be pretty fun and sales are great for making cosplays up - and then Hana-chan New Year Outfit - Fruites Basket, as I got my lovely long goth dress and I found my vampire cloak so I'm all set for that.
Need to check a couple of other things but otherwise I'm ready and raring to go.
Well there you go, finally all updated.
