The Birthday Weekend
Well what can I say? It was a brilliant weekend and it's just the same being 19 as it is 18. Heh no longer an 18 year old either scary.
Quote of the Weekend - "Oh shit. My Lolly's dead" Me heading home from Tony's
Anyway the breakdown of the last three days:
Friday - got up, cleaned the upstiars after getting a letter from Specsavers for an appointment, called them up and got one arranged for 3pm. So after making everything look pretty and presentable I walked up to the big Shops (Manor Walks) in the rain with the dog, went through the test and found I was exactly the same as last time and then walked home. To say I was soaked and rather disheartened is reasonable and then dad asked "Do you want to go to Icky Dicky?" mimicking the kendo moves. I wasn't exactly sure of everything at this point being a tab on the cold side - but no way near as bad as Donnington - and wasn't thinking exactly straight so I asked, "What?" to which Dad repiled "Do you really want to go to Icky Dicky??" mimicking the moves again.
Instantly I knew that they had something planned for the night so I said I wanted to go out - in truth I was hoping that they would have something planned (gomen Kal-chan, I really did want to go out. I kinda subjected her to four dan grades and Bo without knowing oopse) and was playing guessies as to what it was. Turned out we went to Hexam cinema and saw 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. Brilliant movie and Burton does an excellent version of the story which is far more close to the book compared with the other one (and yes I did like the other one but this version knocks the socks off it by miles). A high recommenedation off me cause it has brilliant visulas, excellent scripting/storytelling and the acting is supurbe. Depp and Burton pull together the story well and the other characters just totally work together. Dad wants Burton to do 'The Great Glass Elevator' which is quite ironic considering that Dad doesn't like 'Nightmare Before Christmas'.
Saturday:
Instead of me waking up my parents, my Dad woke me and mum up at 7:30 whilst trying to move the bilnds downstairs and one of them fell. He was okay but it was quite a funny start to the day. Opened my presents from my parents (see below for what I got) and had BLT sandwichs before getting ready and we headed to Westgate Hill.
I now own two moto-bike jackets. I've got my Yamaha (Rossi) one and a proper leather one again which is a bit like my old one just a lot bigger and with much better lining in it so it will be a hell of a lot warmer. Mooched about on the hill and went into the wierd shop (I can never remember the actual name of it) and I got a blue pendent necklace bought for me as well off my parents ^_^
Came home and got set up. Mat arrived early and then ten minuets later Ahmed did which was great. He's taken to the Trike so next time he comes over Dad says he'll give him a lift. Unfortunately he couldn't stay cause no one had cancelled their saturday off so he had to disappear. Shame but it was still great to see him, and my parents liked him as well.
The others turned up and the BBQ was an Indoor Grill but it didn't bother any of us as we sat and talked, watched DVDs and played on Video games. Weird night but one that I will remember with a smile. Also Mam's famous RIV Punch was quite popular - if a bit on the leathal side (and no I still have no idea what the hell was in it) - which was good.
Sunday:
Took Mat to the bus stop and saw him off. It felt mage strange to know that I wouldn't be seeing him for another two weeks - if I can get things sorted out - and it wasn't emotional but strange in feeling. Heh when he reads this he's going to think I'm soft but I don't care. I do miss him it's just I get busy with things and keep running all over the place.
Anyway, came back and watched the German Moto GP. Rossi won again but this time fighting with Gibernal for pole and having to watch Nicky Haydon who was trying to get a pole on his birthday. Bless him 24 years old today. Quote "I was hoping that it would be my birthday present to Nicky" Gib after he came second. A damn good race and I want to see both of them fighting over the rankings again. It's so fun.
After that I had a bath and fell asleep. Woke up at 3 when the phone went, fell asleep, woke up at 4 looked at the time, shifted postion and thought 'I'll have another half-hour', woke up at 5:30ish. Got changed and went to Giannies aka Tony's aka the Itlanian Resturant where we went for my 18th.
Managed to finish a full meal, something Manwell would have been please about but there were no Poffiterolls. Damn it! Still it was a goergous meal and I'm so glad we went there. Also shared a bottle of Rose with my mum and felt a little woozy but the lolly pop turned out to be an excellent cure for that. Except when we were coming home I dropped it in the side pannel of that car and hence my curse cause I couldn't eat it anymore.
Came home and walked the dog and came online.
There ya go, my last three days all updated. Certainly a birthday to remember ^_^
Time for a mooch
