Tales from the drowned rat
The title is a rip off of Tales from the River Bank but it doesn't fit what I am actually going to rant about.
Quote that made me laugh:
Lee: Q.What's white and can't climb a tree?
A. A Fridge
lol it made me laugh only cause Mark (a lad from media - ironically Lee is as well) got the image in his head of a fridge standing by a tree and not being able to climb it. He was laughing for a good twenty minuets and it got to a point where all three of us were laughing.
Neeways - the actual update
Saturday - went to work as normal and then went to the disco which was a good night. Felt a little out of place cause it was mainly my mum's workmates but at least I got some good dances with Kamo *grins broadly*
Sunday - got up, got sorted and then Chu-chan came around and we caught the bus into town. Went to see Valiant which was okay - a bit of a ever-so-typical British War film but made for kiddies and played down on the horror that war is. It's a sunday afternoon film more than anything and it's more fun playing guess the voices and play along with the British jokes that it is watching it but meh. We would've gone and seen Robots but unfortunatly we had missed it by 10ish minuets which was a real pain in the arse. Came home afterwards and watched Dr Who repeat cause I missed it the previous night and I am totally a fan of it! (Even though Jack and Martin don't like it) Had tea and then went online before going to bed.
Monday - got up after spending an extra hour in bed, had to find my stuff cause I had forgotten to get everything sorted out the night before. Went into town early to get Kal's birthday present ^_~ and to help Rob take the equpiment back from the shoot. Mooched around a little bit and then went to my usual letcure and poor old Noel went back over half of the stuff that he had done just before we had broke up - with a few extra bits added so that we didn't tell him straight away. lol. Drove to work and I swear they were out to get me but it could just be due to the fact that I hadn't been driving in traffic for a while. Went through work as normal and got elven pops which I was mega happy about. Came home, had a shower and went straight to bed.
Tuesday - got up and went in early to see Noel with Si in order to go through the theory questions that had to be covered and decided on what I was actually going to do. Went and got some theory books out of the libaray and I've decided that I'm going to buy one of them cause I keep going back to it. Then went to talk to the dsylexia lady to go over the stuff that I had gotten from Nerac and what I had to do (still need to send the letter off but that'll get done tomorrow). Went home and did something (can't think what) before going to work and going through a general night, slogued my guts out trying to get pops and ended up with 5 but luckily my presentation rate was high so it was worth it. Came home, had tea, went online and did some research whilst chatting on to Baka-chan.
Wednesday - got up and went in for my usual Tech lesson, found out that the tech assingment might have to take a different route cause it's proving to be tricky to get the right systems working (this is from Graham the lecturer) so we might have to change something around. Came home and received a letter from Gericom about the laptop saying that I needed to pay (not suprising) for the replacement but they needed a copy of the original recite. That had me going 'Oh f***king sh*t' cause I had not actually bought the laptop as I had given the money to my parents which meant that I did not have the bloody recite. slightly panicking I searched through my top drawer (which contains all of my important papers so I know where they are) and no sigh of it at all, went into the spare room to search through the folder where mam keeps all that sort of stuff and no sign of it. All of this time I was praying to god that Dad would not come upstairs and ask what I was doing cause it would have caused a hell of a lot of problems. I decided that it was better to ask Mam if she knew where it was so I went downstairs and watched Star Trek DS9 with Dad, went to work, once I calmed myself down by playing with Raggy (my Teddy who sits on my Desk - I won him at the Town Moor a couple of years ago and he's been on my desk with Gonzo ever since) I actually had a really good night at work, got 11 pops and Premier and Care packages which I really needed so I was bouncing around like a good one. Drove home and asked mum if she knew where the recite was, she guessed at the file as well. Got home, had tea, mum searched for the recite and could not find it. To say I was a little bit panicky is an understatement but I kept myself calm and composed. Decided the best idea was to call Gericom and see if I could get around it. Stayed online late cause I was printing off the photo's from the shoot, filling out my loan information, writing a check and talking to my two kitties of Kamo and Hiya ^_^ Long story - I'll explain some other time.
Thursday - got up, found that Dad was out so I called Gericom to explain the situation. And this was how the conversation went:
Operator: "Welcom to Gericom how can I help?"
Me: [rather panicky and nervous] "Hi my name is Sarah Elliot and I've got a damaged claim that I have to pay for but I've recieved a letter saying that I need to send off the original recite from the purchase. We've searched everywhere and we can't find it so I was wondering what I could do about it?"
Operator: Have you already sent it off to be fixed?
Me: Yes
Operator: Well you don't need the recite then cause they'll still fix it for you anyway
Me: Oh, [happy and relieved]really? Brilliant! Thank you so much!
So after all that worry turns out that I didn't need to bloody thing...talk about annoyingly typical. so I filled out the forms, put it in a envelope, put the loan stuff in another envelope, checked I had everything and went off to uni to go and see Graham and the group for our documentary meeting. Went through what we had done and basically where we were up to and what we still had to do. Once that was over I was going to head off and send the stuff by recorded delivery - but I forgot my purse that had my money in so I need to do that tomorrow. So I went to Bar One to meet up with Graham and David so we could decide what we were going to do for our 25 shot movie. We're doing a parody style thing entitled 'Harvey's Sister Finds Love' and it should be very funny to make (and Kamo and Hiya might be asked very nicely if they can help us again but we don't know yet). After that talked to David as I headed to the bus about various films - mainly though about Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas - and then I got the bus home. Once home I requested a hug off my Dad cause I needed one after all of this - though don't tell him - and had a nice hot shower and then came online and updated my blog.
Got work later on and then I'm going to be online to take a bit more time off doing anything.
*big grin* that feels so much better ^_^
