lazy weekend

Well I've been a bit lazy of late and took a couple of days off but I needed to cause I've been really tired of late which has not been a good thing and it drives me batty if I work for too long on something without a break. That sounds really ironic coming from me don't it?

Anyway on thursday my theory letcure got cancelled cause Noel was ill so I got home early and worked on RN for a while and sent my CVs off with it to the various companies. Tomorrow I'm going to try the local theartres and see if they need help running an amature dramatics or something similar during the holidays for work experience. Need to start work on my script of Angelus as well so that should be all fun and more stress but I don't care. As they say Ars Longa, Vita Brevis.

Mam's knees gone even though she won't really admit it so that's not the best thing in the world.

Work's been okay, usual assortement of idiots from all that area and trying to deal with them has been interesting but now I generally ignore most and laugh on with my mates there which is a laugh.

Also those who are going to Rocky Horror, you owe me money! Visa bill's in I need to be paid! (yes Kal I know you're paying after pay-day ^_^)

Kendo was damn fun on Friday night, got to face Kamo-kun in a mock Iku Grading and if I perform as well as I did then on the night (god I'm still a actor) then I will be more than happy. I will be estatic. My Kata needs working on - the small fact tat I didn't know 3 the other night didn't really help - but once I've got the routines in my head then I think I should be able to get them all done and correct. ^_^

Bought a whole load of DVDs today, I did go with the pretense of buying films for theory and came away with bout twenty or so, but granted it was a split between me and my parents so that makes it very cool and fun.

Watched a couple of good movies the last few days, being Wood Alan's 'Danny Rose' which is classic Woody Alan stuff and a real laugh, 'Empire Of the Sun' wow such a cool war film and one of Spelburge's best in my opinion, 'The Ladykillers' the original 1955 version with Alec Gunnise in and that is such a funny film I was laughing through half of it and giggleing the rest of the way and 'Calendar Girls' which is a proper British film that's so sweet and definately on my high list ^_^

Well that's it for now, going to go and do stuff

Paiting and Work Experience

Well the last few days I've been finishing off the painting in the living room with my parents and no I have not burnt or scolded anything since which I think is a really good thing ^_^ It all looks really pretty now anyway and the living room is a nice light chocolate brown - but the really really light colour - and I can gladely say that I helped paint it all. And it is true what my parents say, when I get my own place paint is the best option as I can just paint it all and if I want a change it's easy to paint over.

Yesterday I went into Uni for a tutorial about my feature and that's going well, got to tighten up a few pieces here and there and add in a couple of extra bits but otherwise it's going to script so I've got until the 11th March to get it to him with as much done as possible - hang on the dates wrong on that, I'll find it later on. So I ish very happy about that.

Speaking of Scripts, RN is going to be sent off to two companies as part of work experience/private study so hopefully I'll get something done with them which will be exceptionatly brilliant. Probably not going to be comissioned but you never know ^_^

Speaking of Uni I've spent most of today working through my work experience stuff and made 28 calls today to various companies to get everything sorted. No confirmed placements but I'm sending three CVs off and a couple of companies took my contact details which is always a good thing ^_^ Also got a load of stuff off Northern Film and Media which will flesh out the research phase so Ryu is happy that way.

Works been reasonable and the call minuets line is back up which is bloody good news but customers still whine on anyway so no differences there.

Still got to write up the RN stuff but I'm not too worried cause I can hack through that on Friday and get them both sent off which is good news ^_^

Well theres my half-week update and I'm off to finish my theory reading and then go to work.

Week of work and Why my foots hurting

wow long time no update - thanks for the reminder Mamo and the same goes for you as well - but I have been busy and little Ryu-chan has been tired and stuff which is not good but I'm getting there.

I pratically spent Monday, Wednesday and Friday writing up my re-draft of my treament - finishing it off and all that Jazz - and I'm much happier with it cause it's a lot more light hearted at bouncy which is good. A Cerby gets much more of a look in which makes me smile and laugh a lot ^_^ Posted it through Peter's door the other night so it should be okay and cool and I'm looking forward to finding out about it on Tuesday next week.

One bad thing this week was that I got my theory essay back and it was 50% which was a bit of a bad eep! and I felt gutted for about five minuets then my mind kicked into uni mode, pointed out that it came in at a 2:2 and then I worked out my average for the semester and found overall I had came away with 63% so that meant I was on a 2:1! That made me feel ten times better and I went to boarders and treated myself to two new mangas which made me feel even better. Haven't read them - well correction one's half-read now - but looking forward to getting it all done.

Theory was really cool on Thursday, we watched a film by the name of 'Paris, Texas' and it is so classic. I've become an instant fan of it and I'm defo doing my essay on it cause the guy who made it has so mcuh stuff in and theres a lot to explore and analyise. And this time I'm starting well in advance of myself, so on Tuesday I'm going to start getting books and see if I can get a hold of some of the films that Noel mentioned are incorporated - being The Searchers (which I don't like but will watch for theory sakes) and a couple of others and I'm going to put in 'The Magnificant Seven' cause I saw that the other day and it totally rocks. Seriously you want a western - out of the yanky ones - see that one cause it is so class and absoultely great. Ironically both films are quite long and slowish paced but they don't feel that long and hold you captivated for the whole thing. Probably Mamo will confirm that.

Kendo was pretty okay the other night, got to pratice Kata which was bloody helpful but need to do a lot of work on it but I should be able to hammer it nearer the time and sort it all out. Also finally got my tenauy to stay on my head and not blind me half-way through a pratice which is bloody good going. Poor Kal got a headache which is not the best thing for Kendo and had to put up practising Kirrykiash with the newbies who were being a bunch of noisy so-and-sos. Enshin was quite good and although I didn't win I was on better form than last week which made me feel better. And I was bouncing which made it better (I do my kendo best when I'm bouncing don't ask why I just do)

Works been okay, not too bad bar the bloody minuets line being down and telling customers no we do not have a clue when the bloody things coming back online and no we don't know if your going to get money back either cause we've not been told surprise surprise.

Anyway, the reason why my foots hurting is that I managed to scold it with boiling water from the kettle as I was making my parents a cup of tea cause we've been painting the living room today so that's a nice colour. Luckily I got my foot straight under the cold tap, then took them the tea and the second mam heard about it she had my foot drenched in freezing water so she was debating if I would get frost bite. It's okay but I've got to keep it steady for a while and make sure I don't knock it cause it hurts.

Anyway, going to go and play around now.

Fretting

Before you all get worried, I'm only just mildly stressing abuot my Ikkyu grading in March. Not because I know I can't do it (I damn well know that I can) it's just one of those things that's making me a tad conserned.

Don't ask me why - I've done worse things before and not been as worried but this is something I've never done before and I'm kinda in that phase of 'what if?'. Kallers don't think I'm going to go over board (that applies to you too baka ^_~) and I'm not going to get overly stressed about it cause I have learnt plently from experiece that if I manage to mess it up and get it all wrong and not perfect in any manner before I go for the damn thing, I'll eventually reach a certain point where I'll just go 'fuck it' or won't actually care what happens or something totally similar or unrelated and I'll just do it and hope for the best.

I warn those who are going with me that I will be highly nervouse - I already am - and probably won't be my usual loud and genki sense. Remember back when I first started and I was quite withdrawn and quiet - actually I wasn't as bad as I used to be so imagin me about ten times worse and you'll have a vauge idea.

Still anyway, despite me going on a 'oh-my-god-i'm-worrying-about-something-that's-over-a-month-away' mode, Kendo was really good fun. Now that's probably got you going 'EH?' but it's me. We got to pratice men cuts and go through the old circits which was a good break in for me - since I missed last week - and quite fun.

Then we cut off and did grading pratice, didn't do the kata which is the mega bit I need to know cause I don't know it and if I fail at that I can pratically say goodbye to the grading - yeah that's got me a tad worried as well - but we've got four weeks so I can nab Darren and demand it if we don't do it. Found out that my heal was actually too high for what I was supposed to be doing - which doggered me all night afterwards - but it's tricky cause normally people don't correct it for me so I've got four weeks to do so, and got reminded of how to spot cuts and take advantage of Mark cause he keeps doing the same things over again but it'll make me look good which is the best bit about it.

Enshin this week was pretty fun, bar I kept on thinking about my footwork when I shouldn't have been, and I faced off against Mark twice (I think) and the brown haired new kid (I will learn his name once Darren starts yelling at him more) and he did three men (head) cuts in a row, missed all of them and hit both shoulders in sequence of right, left, right. Had a laugh with Mark afterwards about the bouncy styles - cause the newer ones are at that sorta half-bouncy stage of should I really be doing this yet and can I take that point stage and the fact that when I'm on good/top form I actually bounce on the balls of my feet when I'm fighting - which according to Mark is a pain cause I keep moving. *shrugs* I didn't get the chance to ask Kamo - btw hows them jackets coming on Kamo-kun?

Heh there we go, fretting rant over and I feel much better for it. Probably a few more of these to come but they'll be just to make me feel better. (though hugs are appricated)

Let's Do the Time Warp Again! I'm Going to Live Forever! Springtime For Hitler and Germany!

Current Music: The Producers Soundtrack 'That Face'
Current Mood: Hyper and good

Well this week has been a week of shows and study so sorry about the length of time it took me to update but tis all worth it ^_^

Tuesaday - first day back at uni which was great fun and I got 72% for Bombs and Bullets and Space Adventures (my two scripts for Peter) so I was bouncing around quite happily with that information. Went through a few letcures on Documentary - the next aspect that we're doing - so that we had an idea of what we could do for our own documentarys. I've chosen to do Kendo as my subject matter cause I can easily pitch it in three minuets and there is a lot that can be covered in ten minuets ^_^

Came home and got ready to go out with Mam and Vinnie (a friend of Mam's) to 'The Rocky Horror Pitcure Show Sing-a-long' which was totally funny and so much fun. seriously singing and doing all the stuff was so (*giggles as Springtime for Hitler comes on*) great. You should all have received a text - unless I asked you previously - about going to see the live show and I NEED RESPONCES BY WED/FRI AND IF YOUR BRINGING ANYONE ELSE LET ME KNOW CAUSE I WILL BE DOING THE BOOKING IN ONE GO AND ONCE IT'S BOOKED, IT'S BOOKED!

Wednesday - had the day off and did little odd things that needed to be done and generally a good all round day.

thursday - was back in Uni for Work Experience and Theory and I spent the latter part of the day trying to spend my time doing nothing which was annoying. Work was okay and then I got home, sorted out my bag, went to bed and prepared to get up early.

Friday - left Newcastle at 7am in the morning on the mega bus and spent ages going down to London but what did I really expect? Heh it was okay and quite a nice journey. Mam came up with a good quote though, I was sitting, listening to my music, she taps me on the shoulder and:
Mam: Do you know where we are?
Me: No?
Mam: Auntie Maureen Country.

So we eventaully got to London and lug this bloody bag over half of London and sorted out the hotel. Spent a couple of hours resting and sorting ourselves out and then went out to try and find the chepo tickets for the shows ^_^ Ended up chosing to go and see 'FAME'. We then sorted ourselves out and had an Indian meal which was really nice and then went to the show. OMG that is such a cool show! I saw it years ago and this was no comparision. It was just a fantastic asault on the senses with music, song and dance in so many ways and it was just fantastic. And the girl playing Carmen had the most amazing voice going, she belted out the songs and when I read up on her she had only just garduated in 04 and had landed in the UK tour straight away and was making her west end debute in it. Oh it was just fantasic in every which way and form. Mam also came up with another good quote by mis-proncing 'Rocky Horror' as 'Socky Horror'.

And there were a couple of really nice lads in front of us who kept dropping their mobile and wallet. Mam turned to me once again:
Mam: They're nice Sarah
Me: Yeah they are, the only problem is that they are two boys seeing Fame by themselves (aka with no girlfriends and they're both well groomed)
Mam: Ah

Went home and was pratically dancing the whole way back like the idiot that I am.

((accidentally hits the publish post button before finishing her post))

Saturday - got up and had breakfast which was really nice and then me and mam went around Islington Market (the place that we were staying at) and had a bit of a mooch around. Even found a borders and HMV and went in there and mooched for a while. Then we went to Camden Market and that was so much fun. I seriously forgot how great a palce that was with all it's different stalls and things for sale, seriously if you ever end living up in London you can pratically live out of Camden cause it has everything that you could want and it's such a variety on the normal shops that you can escape with lots of things which made it so worth it.

what was even better was that I got to really annoye some pompus prat. We were in Camden looking around and we spotted this stall that was selling a british comic book (called 'Broodies Law Project Jameson) and I picked one up to have a look at it. The guy selling was telling this other customer about it and this guy was being ever-so-knowledgeable and politically correct and he said:
Guy: The younger generation are into their Japanese anime and manga...
Me: (in the most girlish bouncy voice that I could manage) I'm an anime fan (even putting my hand up)

the guy turned to look at me, expecting to see some little geeky girl with unkept hair and fairly stereotype look of an anime fan and what does he get? Me looking rather stylish in my white top, denium jacket and my hair for once brushed and slicked back nicely so that it looked presentable and I just glared at him as if to say 'right buddy, what you got to say now?'. Not suprisingly he disappeared quite quickly after that and I got chatting to the guy who had actually worked on the book. He was great fun and is apparently going to be at Ama which is going to be great. I got the book and poster for £9 and he autographed them as well ^_^ I think he was just over the moon to find someone who knew something about what he was doing and I also chatted to him about Anime. See Camden does have a lot of things avaible ^_^

After that we managed to get lost trying to find Forbidden Planet once again but we found it and spent ages in there as usual ^_^ Bought some manga's and an rp book and spent a lot of money but didn't care. Went back to the hotel and got sorted out, changed and ready and then went onto the tube. Got off the tube and got on a rickshaw which was strange as hell but so much fun, if a little hair raising. We then went and saw 'The Producers' and wow that is even cooler than the film! You just can't believe it's all happening but you still fall about laughing and all sorts of things work completely differently but it's still so good. And Springtime for Hitler! WOW that is so funny and a great musical number. And they still keep Mel Brooks line in 'Don't be stupid or retardy (I think), come and join the Nazi party' and it just makes you laugh out loud throughout the whole thing.

Came back, singing 'springtime' and having a laugh with mam. Got back and fell asleep quite happily.

Sunday - got up, got sorted and then headed back to the bus. The journey wasn't as bad because we were on a more formal coach and we got home reasonably. Chatted on with Dad for ages and gave him his presents and had a real laugh but it was so worth it. Checked things online and then had tea, a bath and then finished off reading my new manga and then fell asleep.

Monday - got up and sorted things out in my room cause it was a bomb shell. prior I took the dog for a walk to the post office and then came home. Started a essay that needed to be sorted out and then came online and updated this. Going to work tonight and then tomorrow got uni again which should be all fun ^_^
